I have been a customer of Keith West/ Westtax for several years. I was always happy with my returns and felt confident in his services with his "audit" protection plan.
Unfortunately, I was audited about one year ago and have been AMAZED with the irresponsible and unprofessional service he has since provided. When I went in to have my taxes prepared by Keith, we discussed the audit in detail and he promised it was handled. He told me I have nothing to worry about and the IRS is behind in updating their records. Since my appointment I received more notices and have now contacted the IRS. I have learned Keith had NOT provided any of the requested documentation and my file was closed. I owe THOUSANDS and have attempted contact Keith (email and telephone) on 7 occasions. I am now receiving Levy/Lein Letter from the IRS and need to find an attorney. To date he has not returned my emails or phone calls. I feel this form of MISCODUCT is unacceptable.
Thankfully between the State Licensing Board and the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) I have options to prevent this conduct from continuing.
