To Whom It May Concern:
I am the proud owner for a Volvo S60 2.5T which I love and enjoy driving. Not only do I feel protected while driving the amazing vehicle but I know my two year old son is safe as well. Our safety is of the upmost importance to me which is why I chose Volvo. I have recommended Volvo to my other friends who are also expectant mothers. While driving I noticed a grinding on my front right side and I needed a brake light repaired so I dropped my car off at Volvo of Orange County in the Santa Ana auto mall. When I dropped off my car it was after hours because I go from my first part time job to my second part time job to keep a roof over my son and me. Now I know dealerships are expensive but I wanted my car to be inspected by the professionals before anything was done, and it is worth it to spend a little extra money even while it is so tight to insure the safety of my family. I filled out the after hours drop form and asked that the brake lights be replaced for our safety and to diagnosis the brake problem. I have a family friend who does body work and works on vehicles who told me he could fix the issue just get the rest of the vehicle checked out.
The following morning, I received a call from a nice gentleman named Brian Duncanson who explained the problem with my brakes. He informed me the cost to diagnosis the problem would be $145. I agreed and he got back to me shortly and told me it would cost roughly $1200 to resolve the issue with the brakes. Now this is where the issue stands. Brian states I gave him permission to fix my brakes when I never did. He then had the work done and when I arrived at the dealership I was shocked at the $1365.55 bill for work I never authorized, signed for, agreed to or frankly remember being told about.
I told them I never agreed to this and asked to see the written prove of where I signed, to listen to the tapes which according to the dealership are recorded everything is documented. I am so frustrated with the dishonesty by Volvo of Orange County which represents the company which I loved so dearly. Because of this horrible experience I would go as far as saying I will never buy another Volvo and tell my friends and family about this nightmare. I know I am one consumer in a market filled with many choices but I want to stick with a vehicle that keeps me safe, happy and comfortable and I know every customer should feel valued no matter the size, wealth and power of a company.
I have made the Better Business Bureau aware. I have also met face to face and over the phone with the service manager and General Manager at Volvo of Orange County to see what they could do about the unfair treatment. I am hopeful that Volvo will step in and help resolve this issue to make sure your customers are taken care of properly and not taken advantage of.
Please help an unsatisfied customer fall back in love with the Volvo.
Warmest regards,
