We started in October or the first of November. We paid a little down, we didn't hand it all over because I was skeptical. My husband made most arrangements. After a few months our house came out in the paper and they told us it was nothing to worry about that they would get it stopped. They did. Then after a few more weeks (time line not exact) a lady from the law firm called and said "I'm sorry, we are unable to make a modification with this company" we immediately started worrying and when we asked for our money back they convinced my husband that this is how it plays out and to remain calm. Ok it worked a few more times but then the last straw was when they called us on Monday, one week before the sale and said "we are terribly sorry we can't do anything and you need 4500. dollars by this coming Friday to stop the sale!" Well we had to file an emergency bankruptcy order. I should have mentioned that we had been dealing with Al Zaldivar and the day we signed with him we asked about making payments on the house and he said that it would only go to interest so if we didn't it would save us money. I should also add that since that Monday no one will reply to our calls and on one occasion the refund guy was spotted at his desk on the phone and later that same day they swore he had been on vacation ALL WEEK! When I cornered them I got a "swear there is nothing fishy going on" and a promise to expedite my call. Oh yea we have had two calls since, ASKING FOR MORE MONEY! I am sure glad that our phone calls were always on speaker with both of us listening and we have kept all emails. My next step will be to contact the Ballard State Atty. UPDATE ON REFUND.... THE DAY AFTER THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL, THEY WERE READY TO REFUND OUR MONEY. THEY ONLY HAVE RECORD OF TWO PAYMENTS WITH A TOTAL OF 900.00 AND WE HAVE PAID 1400.OO AFTER OUR DISCUSSION I GOT HIS FAX NUMBER AND TOLD HIM I WOULD FIND OUT FROM THE BANK WHAT THE CHECK DATES AND NUMBERS AND FAX HIM A COPY. I TOLD HIM I WOULD CALL BACK AND LET HIM KNOW THE INFORMATION ALSO. WELL FOR THE LAST WEEK I HAVE CALLED AND NICELY LEFT MESSAGES. TODAY I CALLED PROBABLY 40 TIMES, ONE CALL RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER TILL FINALLY SOME LADY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE THOUGHT SHE HAD ME ON HOLD AND I HEARD HER TELL SOMEONE THAT I HAD BEEN CALLING AND CALLING AND SHE HAD BEEN TELLING ME THAT HE WAS ON THE PHONE BUT THAT HE WASN'T AND THAT SHE HAD KEPT TRANSFERING ME TO VM! I SPOKE UP AND TOLD HER THAT I COULD HEAR HER AND THAT SHE HAD NOT PLACED ME ON HOLD! SO THIS TIME MR. LACKS ACTUALLY GOT ON THE PHONE AND EXPLAINED TO ME THAT HE HAD LOTS OF PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH AND WAS A BUSY MAN (I FORGOT TO SAY THAT ONE OF THE EARLIER CALLS THIS WEEK SOMEONE ALSO TOLD ME THAT AND I POINTED OUT THAT I WAS TOLD HE WAS THE REFUND GUY AND THAT IF HE WAS THAT BUSY THEN THERE MUST BE A LOT OF PEOPLE NEEDING REFUNDS AND SHE SAID YEA!) I NOW AM ABOUT TO SEND IN THE LAST INFO HE NEEDS TO ISSUE ME ANOTHER CHECK BUT I MUST SAY THAT THEY HAVE COST ME SO MUCH MONEY THAT THE REFUND ISN'T GOING TO COVER WHAT THEY COST ME BUT AT LEAST IT WILL HELP. IT ACTUALLY WAS MY FAULT FOR DOING BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE THAT CALLED ME ON THE PHONE! THAT IS USUALLY MY NUMBER ONE POLICY, NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE I DIDN'T CALL! LESSON WELL LEARNT! EXPENSIVE, BUT ALL THE GOOD ONES ARE!
