Buyer Beware
|
I purchased a Schwinn Carbon Blue Cycle at the recommendation of the salesman, Steve. He convinced me that the bike was much better quality and would hold up longer that a Peloton, which I was considering as well. At the time of my purchase I also bought a "Lifetime warranty on labor and parts." Not "limited" or "partial" and there was no time limit on the warranty. The bike was fine, although since then I have purchased two Pelotons.....one for each of my homes in Pennsylvania and Florida. The Peloton is a much smoother ride even without the other perks the computer offers. Fast forward five years and the Schwinn needs service. While pedaling there is a loud rubbing noise and, after all this time it obviously needs adjustment. When I called and said that I had a lifetime warranty, they looked up my paperwork and said that the bike was five years old and that the lifetime warranty was only for three years. I guess I misunderstood what "lifetime" meant because to me lifetime means the life of the bike. Don't try to reason with the customer service department because they have an agenda and it to misrepresent what it means when you buy a "lifetime warranty." Buy a Peloton.....it's a better bike.
