Rotary Ceramic Waterproof Watch
|
At the beginning of 2013 I purchased a Rotary watch from SWI. The description clearly stated "Waterproof". The watch was a gift for my girlfriend. We have a swimming pool and the first time she swam wearing the watch condensation appeared under the glass. Why? It is waterproof. Called SWI who said return it. The watch was returned insured and registered. USPS tracking show it as still being at their Florida post office. Called SWI who told me it was now in their repair shop??? How is that? The woman who answered the phone at SWI then told me the watch had passed the 'leak test' so there would be a repair charge for $44. An email was sent to me - never seen it - stating this. The limited warranty only covered movement etc. if the watch passed the leak test then the moisture must have been inside the watch from when it was manufactured. Seems a logical explanation doesn't it? But no the woman said this was not covered under the warranty. There is no damage anywhere on the watch. This is yet another 'rip-off' company. Avoid them.
