Dr. John Nees and Strax Rejuvenation
|
I had surgery at Strax Rejuvenation with Dr. John Nees on Friday July 20th, 2018. I went to Strax for a free consultation the same day that I called in for an appointment which was great because other places had me wait days and even some where weeks before I can have a face to face consultation. I met with 2 doctors (Dr. Sid Bass and Dr. Mosca). They both were excellent surgeons but, in the end, I decided to go with Dr. Nees. My surgical coordinator was Dany and she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I probably called her everyday (several times a day) for over 2 weeks and she NEVER was rude, impatient, or short with me. She gave me her cellphgone # and she answered every single one of my calls (even when she was off from work) and assisted me with everything. She also introduced me to Mr. Jeff Davis who was kind and informative. Upon meeting Dr. Nees, he had such an amazing energy. He answered all of my questions (and I had literally over 27 questions just for him). He displayed professionalism and patience. I was specifically looking for someone who was Board Certified, did amazing work, someone who would give me what I wanted (not just lipo of 2 areas), offered the right price, took my concerns seriously, kind, caring and an all-around good Surgeon. Dr. Nees possessed every aspect that I was looking for in a surgeon. The majority of my concern was on my health/life, recovery, and my potential results. I wanted to know what methods he used to prevent complications or fat embolism. He explained that he does not inject under the muscles where the blood vessels are which greatly reduces the likelihood of a fat embolism. He was sincere about my safety and I appreciate that. The day of surgery I checked in and suffered severe panic attacks. That morning was probably the worst anxiety episodes that I ever experienced. My anesthesiologist was Chris and he was absolutely remarkable. I can’t put into words how incredibly amazing Chris was. Chris knew that I had been off of my medication for a while to prepare myself for surgery. He went right into action. So when he recognized that I was having rapid panic attacks, he did everything to comfort me and calm my thoughts. He told me to remain positive, keep positive thoughts in my mind, to breath. He spoke with my family members who couldn't be there with me over the phone and reassured them as well. He gave me a big hug, looked me in my eyes and comforted me with his words, energy, and actions. He eased my mind and gave me 2 Valium's prior to surgery to help reduce the panic attacks. After about 20-30 minutes I was relaxed, and they felt that it was appropriate to begin the surgical procedure. I was then rolled back to the OR and was told to lay on the table. That was all that I remembered until later on that evening with the exception of a few seconds while going home hitting bumps on the road (hurts like hell). I went to my 1-day Post Op appointment and saw Ms. Rose (P.A.). Ms. Rose is a doll. She was very professional yet personable. She went out of her way to be helpful and I think that little things make the biggest impressions. She was very knowledgeable and helped me understand a few concerns that I had about being so Fatigue and the changes in the sensation in my body, etc. She had a lot of great suggestions regarding recovering and healing. Julissa at the Post Op nurses’ station has been phenomenal. She is friendly, kind, helpful, and attentive. She would be great as the face of the Post Op department. Julissa’s positive attitude changes the mood in the FRONT of the post op department which is needed especially when checking in and calling in to get help. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to meet with her. For the most part, my experience with Strax and Dr. John E. Nees was excellent. I’ve already referred 3 people and 2 have had their surgeries, 1 is going to have theirs in December. I would highly recommend Dr. John E. Nees and Strax again especially because I feel like I got a really great price and great results. Ive met great women who have already had their procedures done. This has given me the confidence that I was lacking. I am more proportionate and thus my clothes fit better which allows me to appreciate my new body.
