These people are complete frauds and their bids are two to three times higher than their competitors. I was solicited to enter into a contract to build a patio cover. The salesman who signed the contract was not legally supposed to be soliciting bids and he didn't know anything about the construction business. He made statements and promises that he knew or should have known to be false and I paid Patios Direct a deposit in reliance on those promises. Turns out they never even tried to get a permit to do the job because they knew they couldn't build the job to code. They offered to illegally tear our and move posts and footings after inspection by the City of Pasadena which, had I agreed to do it, would have resulted in huge fines by the City and an order to tear it back out. I later found out that their contract, which didn't specify whether they were building the patio out of paper, plastic wood or gold, or the size of the proposed patio, was almost three times higher than it should have been and did not comply with California State Construction law. They saw that I was a female senior citizen living alone and they targeted me. When I said I wanted to cancel the contract, they threatened to dump materials on my property and force me to pay for them. Only when I got a lawyer and threatened to sue them for fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress did they agree to cancel the contract, but they kept my deposit of $800, for which they did absolutely nothing. So now I have to take them to court to get back my deposit. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
