I had my engine light come on, so I went to Advanced Auto Parts to get the codes. I took these codes to this shop and gave them to the owner, Red. I said I wanted to know why the transmission was acting up and why the exhaust was so loud all of a sudden. I hand wrote a copy of the codes in front of him and put it in his hand. I got a call an hour later saying my O2 sensor was bad (which I told him about). I asked about the transmission. He said he doesn't work on them. I asked about the exhaust. He said he doesn't work on them. I said "Ok. I'll pick it up then." I went in and asked for the key. "That'll be 29.99," he said. I asked what I was being charged for since he did absolutely no work. "For hooking up the computer and getting the engine codes." So all he did was look up engine codes that I gave him in the first place. He said he doesn't use "other people's codes" which he certainly did not say when I dropped the car off. He refused to give me my key until I let him steal the 29.99 from me.
