There are 3 reviews for this company on another web site. The first one is bogus and I am going to agree with the other 2 reviews. The reason being was Monday, August 23, 2010 I was out running errands and noticed this Kiosk on Redhill in Tustin,Ca. out front of where Big Lots is located, with a sign saying they bought gold, jewelry, etc. I had several old watches, 3 new ones, and 3 Gold Plated Orchid Flowers from Singapore. I stopped and asked the girl if she would buy everything for $75.00 and she said yes. She took my I D information and wrote out a Company Check. I went and cashed same at my bank, only to see on Wednesday Saatchi had stopped payment and I was charged a $10.00 fee. Going to the internet and typing in Saatchi Jewelry, I find they operate several kiosk sites in Orange County, along with the girl in Tustin telling me the main store is in the Irvine Jewelry Mart, Irvine. I go to the Irvine location yesterday and approach the two men at the Saatchi Location and ask if they operate the kiosk in Tustin and their reply was a mumbo/jumbo response. I identified myself as selling various old/new jewelry at their Tustin kiosk and wanted to know why they stopped payment on the check. The both were speaking in a foreign language to each other and the bottom line was they did not know what I was talking about, could I prove that I had sold anything to the girl, which at that point I could not, only my word. The reply was sorry don't know what you are talking about! So I drove to the Tustin store and asked the girl if she remembered me and she said yes. Explained to her what had happened and she said her boss told her she should not have bought my things and she could try to get them back. I also asked her to give me back the card with all my private information on and she said she did not have it. Told her fine I would go to the Tustin Police as I felt Saatchi Jewelry were operating a scam. At the Police station I was told this would be a Civil matter, but what was interesting Saatchi Jewelry apparently does not have the proper City License to operate as a second hand buyer of merchandise in Tustin. Upon returning home I have a message that there was a mistake and I could either have the money or items back. I called the girl and said I want the money because that is why I stopped there in the first place was to cash them in. She said she would call me back in 5 minutes, but that never happened and my return calls went to the FAX. Bottom line; $85.00 is not a lot of money, but with all the locations Saatchi operates here in OC, how many other people have had similar experiences but have not gone to the Police and reported them.
