I attempted to refinance a mortgage with this company for many months before eventually just giving up. At the time I was unaware that you should not pay a mortgage officer up front for work they are going to do. (Chalk that up to learning). This company requires a small upfront payment ($600 per refinance).
Although this company will advertise as a loan broker that works with lenders, they have only access to one lending institution in Florida. The mortgage agent's name was Steven R. Weaver. The only offer I ever got was way beyond the rates originally offered and with several thousand dollars in fees. After contesting these fees and the rate, he said that he would get these fees and rates taken care of (my credit is good enough), but at no point was this ever achieved.
The last email I received promised that they were finalizing the loan. That was several months ago. At this point I cannot get a phone call or email returned. I will have to lose the $600 and look for another agent to refinance with.
I understand that this company has attempted to find a loan for me, which removes them from any liability for refund of my money. This is why I will not file a complaint. However, given the chance, please use a different institution.
