Review 9/15/2009
In August of 2009, I brought my vehicle in to Mullahey for warranty service. I reported 9 items in which only 6 were completed. 2 items were back ordered, which I'm still waiting for a month later and the final item, according to Mullahey, is not covered under warranty.

The item in question are 'SS' emblems on my Chevrolet Trailblazer SS. The vehicle comes equipped with 3 'SS' emblems...1 on the rear tailgate and 1 on each front side door. The vehicle is closing in on 3 years old now and over the past year, 'SS' emblems have fallen off of both front side doors. Knowing that I had time left on warranty, I delayed bringing it in and instead, buffed off the left behind glue residue from where the two emblems had fallen off. (Each fell off at separate times a couple of months apart)

Mullahey questioned why all of the emblems were missing and said they don't believe it to be a warranty issue since they are all missing. I explained that they are not all missing and only the two emblems from the doors were missing, but I still had the rear tailgate emblem intact. He asked how they fell off and I said that I wasn't sure except for the glue must have just began to crack and therefore, the logos fell off. He said it was suspicious and they would not cover it.

On the other hand, they had no problem re-sticking my rear bumper pad that was also coming off due to the glue giving way.

I contacted Chevrolet headquarters to see if they would help and according to them, Mullahey told them they would not cover it as a warranty item because there was no leftover glue residue on my doors, which lead them to believe that they were stolen off my car rather than them falling off. First off, that is a different explanation than what Mullahey gave me and the paperwork they even gave me stated they weren't covered due to "all emblems missing". (Even though not all emblems are missing) Secondly, whether they fell off or were stolen, there would still be glue residue, so their explanation of 'no glue residue so they must have been stolen' makes no sense.

Chevrolet headquarters said they cannot help, since Mullahey is convinced they were stolen and it's Mullahey's discretion to replace or not.

So because someone at Mullahey Chevrolet 'thinks' that my emblems were stolen opposed to fallen off, I am out of my 2 'SS' emblems, despite it being a manufacturer defect in the glue for the emblems. Mullahey should not be able to base their decision on a personal assumption when determining warranty vs. no warranty. They should consider all relevant information and facts (like my rear bumper cover that had the same exact issue and they had no problem fixing). If, in the end, they still cannot tell then they should give the customer the benefit of the doubt.

I've always bought Chevrolet vehicle's, but considering the lack of customer service and assistance from Chevrolet in this matter, I will consider other manufacturer's for my future vehicles.
