Review 10/21/2011

I gave this store a 4 star review because I did not complete the transaction, but I am so sorry I didn't.
I dropped in to get pricing on selling my parent's jewelry (having seen their signage every time I went to Costco) and spent about an hour with them examining and testing all the jewelry. I got a price for all the gold and diamonds which I was pretty happy about, but it being the first place I went to I decided to check a few more places.
That ended up being a big mistake! I ended up giving some pieces to the estate sale people who said they could sell them for more $ in jewelry value than melt down. After their commission, it ended up about the same.
What was left I took to another store to check prices and before I knew it they had the gems removed from the settings so they could weigh it, had actually disregarded the diamonds in a pendant saying they weren't real and another piece had given back to me as costume when I knew the diamonds (although small) were real. I ended up selling the gold to this last place as I was so upset that they had dismantled the pieces. I felt like with the mistake they made on the diamond they probably made mistakes on their math figuring out the prices.
When I put the amounts I got for both the estate sale and the other unnamed jewelry shop together, it was not nearly as much as I had been offered at Monaco!
