We hired Houseworks which was the worst mistake ever made in our adult lives. They took eight months to do a job that promised to be completed in six weeks. No workers showed up for days on end. The designer was a drunk who went missing for weeks at a time. The kitchen walls were mismeasured and as such, the cabinets did not fit. They lied to us about the cabinets being ordered which delayed the project about four months. Most areas of the job took four or five to get it close to right. Our window treatments were ruined and they claimed they had no money to replace them. They advertised as being insured but had no insurance. Most of the workers on site were unlicensed and did not speak a word of English. We negotiated a price to rebuild the fireplace and after they tore down the original one and started on the new one, they told me the price did not include a face on the fireplace. Same with the paint. They tried me to cheat me an extra $4000 because we put a different color paint on the walls then what was there originally. And the list goes on and on....
These people are straight up crooks, liars, and cheats. We have heard, after the fact, of Houseworks taking deposit money and never starting a job.
