Do not ever purchase anything from the specialty departments at this Home Depot location.
My boyfriend and I purchased our first home this year and chose The Home Depot for our carpet and cabinetry needs. We thought since they are a large corporation we would be well taken care of. We had a rude awakening coming.
It took two weeks to deliver the carpet and one of the rolls came in damaged. When they reordered carpet for this bedroom, it took another week and a half to come in, and then they installed it with a seam down the length of the room. The installer then proceeded to disguise the seam by placing our furniture over it down the length of the room. He also caused damage to a wood flooring transition molding that had been installed previously. We were also overcharged for the installation itself and had I not checked into it, we would not have gotten a refund for the difference. We are still waiting for a solution from this company regarding our carpet. It has been over a month since we ordered the carpet originally.
When we ordered the cabinets we were guaranteed that we would be called when they came in so we could pick them up. We called on a Wednesday to check on them, only to be told them had come in two days earlier and no one had thought to call us. As we were putting these cabinets together we realized that they had not used the cabinets we requested in their drawings. We specifically ordered ceiling high cabinets and they used cabinets that leave a full foot of space between the tops and ceiling.
This company has been nothing but negligent in the handling of our home needs. Please do not make the same mistake we made, DO NOT special order anything from this Home Depot location!!
