Not What I Asked For!
I sent Steven a photo of the coat of arms that I wanted on a cap. The photo showed a dark blue background, with a blue river and a red flower. The coat of arms they sent had a gray background with a turquoise river and a red and green flower. I called
twice and emailed once to ask why it didn't match the photo. Where's that 24 hour turn around time for returning calls? Steven called back using the number on my order, not the number that I left twice on voice mail. His message said I should leave another
number if I had one! When I finally talked to him, he said, "Blue is blue. The coat of arms is heraldically correct." I said that red was not green and blue was not gray. He said I could send it back for a full refund. I asked if I could get what was in the
photo. He repeated that it was "heraldically correct." I'm glad I didn't opt for one of the more expensive items! P.S. Maybe Steven isn't suited for Customer Service.

Business's response - on 8/26/2014
NOTE TO READER: We all know the online customer is always right... even when they’re wrong. For those who believe this cliché, this is the end of our response. For everyone else, Class has Started: One of the oldest Coat of Arms in history is on display on our website taken from a rare - and authentic - heraldic manuscript called the Doomsday Book of Cheshire commissioned by edict of William the Conqueror in December, 1085. It is one of many rare heraldic books, many first editions, in our possession. Yes, you read that correct – it is in our private library, not the handful of public libraries that may even have such a book. As King of England, William the Conqueror wanted to ascertain who owned what, its value and what he was entitled to in the form of taxes. To accomplish this, he sent men to all the shires of England to collect and codify this information. The term "Doomsday" was intended to refer to a type of Biblical "Day of Judgment" and just as there would be no appeal on that final day, so, too, the Doomsday Book had the final word and there would be no questioning what was written in the Doomsday Book. This very old Coat of Arms is dated 1070 and described heraldically thus: Azure, a Wolves head erased Argent. The term Azure means blue, Argent silver. It is a blue shield with a Wolves head that is silver. There is no reference to gradations of blue, no light/dark silver. It is a very simple reference to what is called the heraldic Blazon. If you wish to view this, go to our website and reference the Doomsday Book – it’s actually very cool! An uneducated comment would refer to blue as turquoise but, yes, blue is blue. The shield that was provided to us was black and what this individual refers to as a “river” is described in heraldic terms: A wavy bend Azure which is exactly what was machine stitched on her $40 cap along with the black shield and red flower. Rhetorically, how is it that nearly all the other reviews posted here, on our website and other public review portals (some going back more then 10 years) have exceedingly rave reviews about our Customer Service and individual items they have purchased in the thousands of dollars and this one individual wants to publically question our heraldic expertise? Our Customer Service Representative offered her a full refund because there was nothing to fix – it was heraldically accurate. How do you tell someone who believes the cliché that, well, in fact, there is nothing to fix but, “you know what, it’s clear that you’re not happy with it so just send it back and we’ll refund your money.” We said it just like that with plenty of sugar and honey and this is God’s truth :) In his first edition book printed in 1864, English Heraldry, which is sitting on the corner of my desk Charles Boutell, one of the all-time leading heraldic scholars, states the following: “The Tincture of Heraldry comprise Two Metals – Gold (Or), Silver (Argent) and Five Colours – Blue (Azure), Red (Gules), Black (Sable), Green (Vert) and Purple (Purpure).” If you are a car mechanic or a heart surgeon or stay-at-home mom, we truly respect what you do. When it comes to heraldry, countless thousands of people respect our expertise, knowledge of heraldry and bespoke work. As standard in all our “Note to Reader” segments, we encourage you to give us a call and experience for yourself the quality of our Customer Service and thoughtful insight regarding our bespoke world class heraldic items. Chances are, you probably want to speak with someone who knows a thing or two about heraldry. We’ve got over 100,000 Facebook Likes and an A+ Rating with the BBB. Until next time – Class has Finished :)
