WARNING: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.
We hired Donahue & Joseph Builders (or really David Donahue as he is the only person in this company) to build our house. After a few months, the work was going very slowly (he had only one guy on the job), and then he literally abandoned the job. Inspectors told us that much of the work was done improperly and has to be redone. Worse, we had ignorantly paid David in full for many of the bids, as he told us the work had been completed and we believed him, but it was not. And as stated, the work that was done had to be redone. He breached the contract, screwed up most of the work, took our money, kept promising to make everything right but then ended up telling us he's filing for bankruptcy and no longer going to work in this industry.
This company, this guy, is what gives the contracting industry a bad name. Now we have to sue him but will likely get nothing. To top it all off, the reason we were building is because my wife has a severe disability that requires a special home. Now we not only have no money left, but we have nowhere for her to live. He has completely destroyed our lives.
At the least, I want to warn others so no one else goes through this...
