I have made two major purchases at Ashley Furniture. After the first purchase I had no complaints, the store that I purchased from had excellent sales reps, easy to work with financing and were very polite.

The second purchase I made at Ashley Furniture started off in much the same way. Things began to go downhill when setting up a delivery. At first visit I was told that delivery would take about 10 days. Two days later when actually paying for the merchandise the delivery time frame was pushed back to nearly 3 weeeks.

Then upon recieving the product, a matching sofa and loveseat, the sofa was damaged. I was assured by the delivery person that a technician was going to be able to repair the damage and that it was unnecessary to refuse the shipment. I was also told that I would recieve a call the next day to arrange for the technician to come to my house. Three days later I finally recieved the phone call.

I was originally told that it would be about another week until the tech could make it out to my house. After speaking with a manger that was moved up to two days later. The technician arrived, and almost immediately informed me that the sofa was defective and unable to be repaired. After speaking with more managers and customer service reps who were not very polite or helpful a new delivery date for the furniture was set up.

The day the furniture was supposed to arrive, I contacted customer service only to be told that it would be several more days. When the delivery finally arrived, the wrong piece of furniture was provided.

I am still waiting for the correct piece of furniture, with no definate new delivary date. Customer service has done very little to help me, and has not been very polite. Ashley Furniture has not offered to give any type of compensation for any of the delays or mistakes made.

I have also talked to several other people and learned that they have had very similar experiences. I have also asked Ashley Furniture about a refund, I was informed that since I have accepted the original delivery a full refund would not be given under any circumstances.
