On Saturday 1/15/11 my daughter & I went to my storage unit to get some items out, I noticed my lock I had on my unit was not there and was replaced with a different lock. I went to the office to inquire with the manager on site. The personnel on staff was not the manager & asked for my storage unit # which I gave her. While standing in the office my daughter noticed 2 boxes on the floor next to the desk which were my boxes. These boxes contained paperwork & pictures I had in storage. I asked the lady what my stuff was doing on the floor, she stated all my items in my storage had been auctioned off. I was beside myself in tears....I asked her "why" she shrugged her shoulders & said I would need to come back on Tuesday when the manager was there. I explained to her there was no reason for this to have happened I had receipts from them with current payments to date. I explained to her that my mother had passed away recently & there were very sentimental items in there that she had given me. I had recently moved from a home & alot of what was in my home was in the storage unit. I called the police, when they arrived I stated to him the manager lived on the site and requested that she come to the office to explain why this happened. Mrs. Gamboa, manager of All-Stor stated to the officer & myself that she could not explain as to why this happened, but that it was a "mistake". I could not believe what had happened. I can't begin to explain what a loss I have experienced. What I can tell you is after several attempts in speaking with the manager on different occasions, she is yet to explain to me how the mistake was made and not to mention the company has made no attempt to compensate me for any of my loss. Mrs. Gamboa was incensitive and unapologitic. I have filed a complaint with the B.B.B and will have to seek further legal action. What I have learned is to take pictures of all items in storage and to have insurance and lastly I will never keep sentimental things of value to me in storage again.
